Strain should be applied until the tension curves start to straighten out. Barb wire straining is less sophisticated. It is common to do a \"pre-load\" strain (to remove initial stretch), then repeat strain to suit contour. Note that extra care is required when straining barb wire - a breakage can be dangerous.
