Designed for use with 2.5mm High Tensile Wire. Simply hang onto wire to provide an instant & accurate wire tension reading. Convenient, can be used with any wire strainer. Enables correct wire tensioning to optimize fence strength and service life.
Features
Use for both new and existing fences
Large easy to read scale.
Calibrated for 2.5mm wire
Durable construction promotes long service life
Gold zinc plated for corrosion protection
Wire Tensioning Tips
The method for monitoring tension of HT wire netting is to observe the 'Tension curves" in the line wires. Strain should be applied until the tension curves start to straighten out. Barb wire straining is less sophisticated. It is common to do a "pre-load" strain (to remove initial stretch), then repeat strain to suit contour. Note that extra care is required when straining barb wire - a breakage can be dangerous. For all wire products, it is recommended and useful to attach a Permanent Wire Strainer (e.g. Strainrite Std Cliplock) so that wire strain can be adjusted in the future, both as the fence 'relaxes' over time or to recover stretch from impact.
