Bonanza Shine Twice-a-day has been developed for the artificial rearing of calves, with a formulation intended for feeding milk replacer twice daily.

The product combines skim milk, whey and buttermilk with a blend of plant oils. Bonanza identifies these ingredients as important parts of its milk replacer formulation, designed to provide milk-based nutrition during the calf-rearing period.

The manufacturer describes Shine Twice-a-day as a product intended to encourage dry-feed intake and support rumen development before weaning. The product's formulation is designed to complement a calf-rearing programme in which suitable starter feed, forage and clean drinking water are available.

Designed for Twice-Daily Feeding

Shine Twice-a-day is intended primarily for calf-rearing systems where milk is offered in two daily feeds.

Bonanza also describes the product as suitable for different feeding methods. However, the manufacturer's public information does not provide a complete feeding schedule for every system, so feeding quantities and preparation instructions should always be taken from the current product label and appropriate calf-rearing guidance.

Milk-Based Formulation

The combination of skim milk, whey and buttermilk distinguishes Shine Twice-a-day from milk replacers relying on a single milk-derived ingredient.

Bonanza also incorporates a range of plant oils into the formulation. The manufacturer associates this ingredient combination with calf growth, dry-feed intake and rumen development.

As with all milk replacers, calf performance depends on the complete feeding programme, management, housing and animal health rather than the milk powder alone.
